PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Kite Curiosities LLC –  Philadelphia, PA
Founder, Artist, Educator
July 2019 - Present

As the founder of Kite Curiosities I collaborate with NPOs, local businesses, public parks, and community groups to design arts activities for adults and youth, focusing on kites, printmaking, drawing and cut paper.

  • During the Covid-19 pandemic I created YouTube videos and distributed kite kits to teach kites online through the Tacony LAB Community Art Center (May 2020). 

  • Commissioned by Capital One to create kite kits and a zoom kite workshop for their Multimedia Community of Practice  workshop series (July 2021).

  • Partnered with Tacony LAB and Riverfront North to present two kite workshops, followed by a community kite-flying event at Pennypack on the Delaware park (June 2021).

  • Created kite-making workshops for InLiquid (July 2019), The Philadelphia School (May 2021), Abington Friends School (Oct 2021), Mural Arts (March 2022), Cora Services/Thomas Holme Elementary (July 2022), and DaVinci Art Alliance (May 2023).

Consultant, facilitator for screen printing pop-ups
April 2025

Assisted lead artist Phoebe Bachman in designing an interactive screen printing activity to engage diverse visitors.

  • Provided screen printing training to lead artist, including creating and exposing positive films and technical printing advice.

  • Created make-and-take screen printing stations for three events in April 2025 at the Bok Building (4/13/25), Tacony LAB (4/16/25), Taller Puertorriqueño (4/23/25) and Philadelphia Student Union (4/24/25). Guided visitors through the printing process during events.

Glen Foerd – Philadelphia, PA
Arts & Culture Program Manager
May 2023 - January 2025

Organized large and small public events, including staffing and managing event setup and breakdown for a historic house and 18-acre estate located on the Delaware River in Northeast Philadelphia.

  • Created numerous sold-out events, including the opening of Glen Foerd’s pipe organ in January 2024 for 230 registered visitors.

  • Increased the number of visitors for Arts & Culture events through the introduction of new weekly and monthly programming, as well as special events. 

  • Led public and private tours of the historic house and grounds. 

  • Raised approximately $30,000 in event revenue in 2024.

  • Spearheaded the Artist-in-Residence Program. 

    • Implemented the Slideroom platform in 2023 to make the application process more efficient for artists and panelists. 

    • Oversaw the expansion of the residency from one artist in 2023 to three artists in 2024 through an NEA grant. 

    • Improved artist applicant engagement through tours and an online orientation. Offered feedback to rejected applicants.

    • Recruited diverse, highly skilled review committee members.

  • Oversaw the Teen Arts Program scheduling, hiring, application, marketing and enrollment.

  • Mentored high school Bloomberg Arts Interns in their development of a clothing swap, attended by Miss Pennsylvania 2023. 

  • Developed a handbook, event planning spreadsheets, and a ticket pricing model to improve event planning and execution.

  • Communicated attentively and clearly when negotiating scopes of work, issuing contracts, and providing essential information.

Orchestra 2001 – Philadelphia, PA
Administrative Director
March 2016 - May 2023

Managed office operations for Philadelphia’s largest contemporary music ensemble, Orchestra 2001, based at Cherry Street Pier.

  • Provided program support for up to 20 concerts annually, including volunteer recruitment and coordination, marketing, ticketing and event set up. Concerts ranged in size from solo pop-ups to large ensembles, at indoor and outdoor venues.

  • Created development reports in excel, including mailing lists and donor acknowledgment lists. 

  • Implemented Give Lively, Stripe, and Square payment processing systems for event ticketing, donations and merchandise sales.

  • Created graphic design for print, web, social media and MailChimp in Canva and Adobe Photoshop.

  • Administered payroll, health benefits, insurance (workers comp, D&O, liability) and government filings.

  • Handled bookkeeping, posted transactions and generated financial reports in QuickBooks. 

  • Oversaw billing, invoicing, deposits, account reconciliations, record keeping, and audit submissions.

The Fabric Workshop and Museum Apprentice Training Program
Apprentice
January 9, 2019 - April 26, 2019

The Apprentice Training Program is a holistic experience enabling artists to develop skills in silkscreen printing and working with fabric to enhance their studio practice.

  • Participated in the daily operations of The Fabric Workshop and Museum (FWM) studio and museum to support FWM and its mission of stimulating experimentation and collaboration among leading contemporary artists and sharing the process of creating works of art with the public.  

  • Designed repeat patterns, and printed a four-yard textile in one color, as well as an eight-yard textile in three colors.

  • Learned to screen print as part of a team, in large format, with the support of other apprentices and the FWM instructor.

Tacony LAB Community Arts Center / Mural Arts – Philadelphia, PA
Artist in Residence
September - December 2018

Through this 12-week residency I created workshops to teach kite making and paper cutting skills to community members. I strove to support people individually and as a group, encouraging creative exploration and enjoyment through art and craft.

  • Curated an exhibit of my work and the work of community members entitled Brick Atmosphere.

  • Produced a large papercut depicting a row house from the historic block of “Castle Row” homes in Tacony. The papercut was displayed in Philadelphia Councilman Bobby Henon’s office window, prominently facing Torresdale Avenue.

Second State Press (SSP) – Philadelphia, PA
Fob Holder [Key Holder]
May 2015 - May 2016

The Fob Holder program offers artists unlimited access to a professional printmaking studio in exchange for supporting studio operations, including monitoring studio activity, selling memberships, maintaining equipment, and enhancing education programs.

  • Instructor: Under Pressure: Pressure Prints for Letterpress provided adult students a complete overview of pressure printing using the Vandercook No. 2 proof press, including mixing inks, preparing matrices, and printing an edition.

  • Instructor: Screen Print Kites was a family program that provided children ages 5 and up the opportunity to layer colorful, translucent patterns on their kite sail at screen printing stations, and then assemble a small, functional kite. 

  • Awarded Fob Fellowship in Spring 2016 to extend residency and coordinate all Fob Holders.
