Make a flyable, screen-printed kite out of paper and bamboo, inspired by kites of Afghanistan!
Students will be guided through the process of screen printing abstract designs on their kite sail, layered with their own personalized cut-paper designs.
Through this workshop, you will learn the mechanics of screen printing, how to print a color gradient, and how to monoprint through a screen by applying painterly brushstrokes.
After printing and assembling, students will be able to fly their kite and continue exploring this inspiring craft that connects us to the wind and sky. Kite making and flying emphasizes balance and presence, offering a pathway to mindfulness and stress relief.
Recommended for adults and mature teens.
No prior experience required.
All workshop materials are provided.
