I’ve been creating small kites that fly!

I draw the designs by hand, and lovingly screen print small editions at Second State Press, a fantastic community print shop in Philadelphia’s Kensignton neighborhood.

The pictured kite is based on a traditional vietnamese shape, and it is made of Tyvek with a bamboo frame. The sail image is a pair of rowhomes that share a wall on Clearfield Street in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia, where I live. I look forward to depicting more Philly places, and exploring a variety of kite forms as I continue this work.
